Where Did My Menu Bar Go?

Posted on: December 20th, 2011

The current trend in browsers (Internet Explore, Firefox) is to provide as much space on the screen to the website content as possible. One of the things that fall victim of elimination is the menu bar.

Fortunately, there’s a very simple trick that brings back your menu bar back when you need it:

Simply tap on the Alt key on the keyboard. It will bring back the menu back. Tap it again and the menu is hidden again.

Of course you can always configure it so that the menu always shows but this simple trick allows you to enjoy the extra space with the new browser layout while still being able to access the menu options when you need it.

By the way, the single tap on the Alt key works on 99% of all Windows software to activate the menu in the active window. It is a built-in Windows feature and only fails to work if the software disables it.
