I’d like to donate my computer. Where should I go to?

There are two places we are aware of.

One of them is Goodwill. They take computers as donations.

Another is Virtual Scavengers (www.vscavengers.org) – they also have several places where you can drop off your equipment.

They will give you donation slips that you can use for your tax deductions. Virtual Scavengers is the preferable choice when you want to donate your computer because they will make sure that your personal information is erased from the computer before reusing it. Goodwill does not provide that service, so you need to make sure that the hard drive is wiped clean of your personal information.
