How To Get Around The Adobe Flash Player Install Problems

Posted on: April 14th, 2009

In the last 2-3 weeks I’ve run into several times (at least 3) on different computers that I could not install Flash Player if I went to Adobe’s website using Internet Explorer and followed the steps there.

However I found a short and sweet workaround which, so far, worked 100% of the time.

The solution is to download the standalone installer, instead of usinging the Activex based installer.

My favorite download site has the latest version of Flash Player: http://filehippo.com/download_flashplayer_ie/
This is for Internet Explorer based browsers (eg: Yahoo Browser, AOL).

If you use non-IE based browser such as Firefox, or Chrome then the download link is: http://filehippo.com/download_flashplayer_firefox/

If you download and run the installer then you will be good to go.
