AVG 9.0 is OutPosted on: October 16th, 2009 Last night I got a notification about that AVG now moved up to version 9.0. The last version was 8.5.420. When there’s a major version change the usual way of events is this: - For a few months the older version will have virus updates but there will be no more program updates for the previous version. - After that few months the users of the older versions will start to get notifications to upgrade. - A few months after that the virus updates will stop for the previous versions. AVG 9.0 continues to have a free version for home users. The easiest way to download the new version is from Filehippo.com: http://filehippo.com/download_avg_antivirus/ I have not had chance to check if the upgrade process from 8.5 goes smoothly, or not but I figure it should be painless because there are no major changes in the software. Here are some screen shots of the new version: Did you find this information useful?
