Avg 2011 Install Error 0xc0070643Posted on: November 17th, 2010 The new AVG 2011 (aka version 10.0) seems to be a pretty solid program and has less install issues than previous versions. However, so far I ran into two cases when the install failed with the above error code. In both cases the computer had AVG 9.0 installed which somehow did not get fully uninstalled before the new version got on. The first time I ended up just using a different antivirus because none of the suggested solutions worked. But the second time I succeeded thanks to the accumulated knowledge on this issue. Here’s how I was able to solve the problem: - Made sure that AVG 9.0 was not running and was removed from the list of software applications. - Removed all folders and files under “C:\program files\AVG”. - Removed the following registry keys and everything under them (using Regedit) HKLM/Software/AVG HKCU/Software/AVG - Ran AVG Remover Tool (http://www.avg.com/us-en/utilities ) After these steps the AVG 2011 install went through. I didn’t even had to restart the computer. Hopefully this will help some folks in resolving this issue.
