Alternative Routes to Our Shop

Addition: November 2012: The reconstruction project failed to meet its deadlines and now it’s projected to finish only sometime around April 2013. Also because of some roadwork, our street, Thornwood Dr, is currently completely blocked off from 96th Street. So the only way to get to our place currently is via 91st Street – as described by the rest of this article.

Early April 2012: the reconstruction of the Allisonville & 96th Street intersection has started and because this is a major project it will finish only around November. Because this intersection is very close to us and the construction is definitely affecting the access to our street I’ve worked out some alternative routes to avoid this intersection.

The intersection will be open at all times during the construction but because there will be only one lane in each direction it is going to be a major bottle neck. The left turning lane on 96th into Thornwood Dr is also eliminated making the access more complicated if you are traveling west on 96th street.

The written directions:
If you are approaching FROM:
- EAST on 96th Street: Turn left on Masters Road, Turn right on 91st Street, Turn right on Allisonwood Dr, Turn left on Allisonwood Ct, Turn right on Thornwood Dr
- WEST on 96th Street: Unfortunately, there’s no getting around the construction, unless you go up to 116th Street and come down Allisonville road and follow the alternate route there:
- NORTH on Allisonville Road: Turn left on Willowview Rd (by the Fire station), turn left onto Masters Rd, go past 96th Street, Turn right on 91st Street, Turn right on Allisonwood Dr, Turn left on Allisonwood Ct, Turn right on Thornwood Dr
- SOUTH on Allisonville Road: Turn right on 91st Street, Turn left on Allisonwood Dr, Turn left on Allisonwood Ct, Turn right on Thornwood Dr

Additionally, to compound the situation, end of May, or early June the Allisonville bridge over I-465 will be closed completely, so only from the East side can northbound Allisonville road be accessed. The other direction will have to go through I-69 and 96th Street.
