A New Rogue Malware SitePosted on: December 1st, 2008 Looks like the scammer got really desperate in this economically stressful times. So far I’ve heard and seen malicious software sites being advertised in spam emails and paid-per-click ads on search engines and other website. But I’ve never thought a scam operation like this gets the publicity of TV. This is the story of “finally fast” (finallyfast.com).First of all, I don’t watch TV. It’s an incredible waste of time and the bad news and mindless commercials are just depressing. The only way I found out about this because while I was fixing a computer today for a client. His daughter walked in and asked me if I heard about this “finally fast” that has been advertised on TV. I told her I never heard of it & that I can’t tell whether it’s good, or not because I don’t have information on it. I got home and visited finallyfast.com. The first thing I noticed that my McAfee SiteAdvisor label turned red – indicating this is a bad site! So I looked up the report on it. Every single feedback about this was negative stating that it’s a rip-off & a scam. Here are the reports on it if you want to see it for yourself: Ascentive.com report (This is the ‘mother company’). Ok. That’s one source. It still can be misrepresented – however I had very little doubt in my mind at this point. I started typing in Google “finally fa” then my eye caught this suggestion “finally fast.com does it work”. So I selected it. The first hit on it lead to Yahoo Answers website which I know for fact that is a good source of information, having helped me countless times. Here’s the article from Yahoo Answers. This confirmed that finallyfast.com is a scam. I hope their site will be shut down soon and this operation terminated. Finally, if you are interested here’s one their ads that I found Youtube: (it’s worth looking at the comments too) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3YRBzz_4Hg If you are looking for a software that keeps your computer clean then just use Ccleaner (www.cleaner.com). It’s free & it cleans registry and temporary files real well. I’ve used it hundreds of times on all kinds of computers always with a good result. A good clean-up and speed-up of a computer will always require a human. It can’t be done well with a software. My firm advice: Stay away from finallyfast.com. |
